Time’s Breath

A Hidden Book—A Fiery Shipwreck—An Undiscovered Island

AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 16, 2025

In a lighthouse off the coast of Norway, a book is found within the remains of a small boat. It contains pictures and stories written in several hands. They tell of a volcanic island in the North Atlantic called Tokket Fall and of the people, animals, and mythical beings that lived there.

Thomas, a young, philosophical English sailor, arrives on Tokket Fall after being shipwrecked and rescued. He meets Keb and Ifama, who have escaped slavery, and their daughter Ismitta, who, as the island’s Story Keeper, is tasked with researching and reciting the history of Tokket Fall.

Ismitta gives Thomas the book, and in it, he writes the history of the island. As his relationship with Ismitta deepens, Thomas wrestles with the realities of existence beyond the confines of the known world.
